ON HER CURRENT CHARACTER...MARGUERITE KRUX
Marguerite Krux is a rich woman with a mysterious past and an incredible instinct for self-preservation. She never knew her parents and was raised in a variety of schools. She is highly educated and intelligent, but is not used to receiving and giving love or even care. She knows a lot about a lot, but has an uncanny and possibly mystical gift for languages. She funded the expedition for her own reasons, and joined the party. She often does things in her quest for precious gems that have endangered her friends, but just as often has found a way to save them when they're in trouble. She believes that she has come for wealth, but several times has caught a glimpse that her purpose and destiny are far greater and even nobler than she can imagine. She has found friends, and more importantly, family, in this Lost World, and has even managed to fall in love with Lord John Roxton, a man who is perfectly matched to her. Though she has acknowledged her feelings to herself, she struggles to trust in another person instead of just herself, and especially struggles to trust in love.
